Quality Dog Biscuits make good snacks but are very fattening and can give them gas. (phewweee!!!)
Better snacks are Apples, Bananas, Carrots, or Raw Chicken Wings (1-2), meaty bones.
Training treats: kibble, string cheese, carrot slices, cooked meat bits. Praise is the best reward.

These dogs are prone to bloat so don’t allow them to exercise or drink large quantities of water before or after eating by one hour. Never allow them to eat way too much and always feed pre-moistened food. Feed at the appropriate height so their head is level with their back. They are also prone to OCD and can get it from jumping off and impacting their shoulders before their shoulders are strong enough to resist the impact. It can be so severe that they have to be surgically corrected. Please, be careful until they are two, at least one year diligently.

Please, don’t let them jump off anything over 12 inches until 1 year. (It’s impossible, but try). Don’t let your puppy overeat. They need to be trim to have the activity level to help benefit in forming good joints. Keep them trim. 10 lbs/month up to 10 months is the normal growth curve. After that, you will need to decrease their daily meal amount to keep them from getting overweight.
